Balboa Class

This six week series class is your chance to get up to speed in Balboa! The Balboa is a classic swing era dance from Southern California that has enjoyed a tremendous revival in popularity in recent years, earning it a cult following of die hard dancers. It’s the perfect dance to both look and dance smooth from slow to even the fastest of tempos! With slick moves and fancy footwork, the dance is seriously addictive!

This class will start out with the basic footwork, connection, and fundamentals of the dance. It will then progress into turns, moves (come arounds and toss outs), and the basic styling points of Balboa. Each class will build upon information from the previous class to continuously further your knowledge week by week. Classes will be an hour long followed by a half hour of practice, questions, and individual help. Balboa is a fun dance with a connection and flow like nothing else! Fast, slow, or mid-tempo… this is a favorite amongst dancers!

This class is open to dancers of all levels (beginner to advanced) who are looking to learn Balboa or brush up on the fundamentals. Individuals and couples welcome. Class highlights:

• One hour of instruction per class plus a half hour of help/question time

Price & Registration: Online advanced registration is only $60/person for the entire series class. Day-of registration (if space is available) is $70/person. DVD Review: A DVD review of the class is available for $15. The DVD contains all the core material covered in the class so you can practice exactly what you learn at home. When you register with the DVD review option, your video will be available for you when you check in on the first day of class.
