Saturday, May 24th: For the first time ever at
Whirl & Twirl, we'll
be featuring a big band! Harlem Madness is a 10-11 piece band that focuses primarily on hot jazz of the
Harlem Renaissance. The band draws their inspiration and material from greats like Duke Ellington, King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Cab Calloway, Andy Kirk, Jimmie
Lunceford, Fletcher Henderson, Don Redman, Paul Howard, and the Casa Loma Orchestra just to name a few.
From the up tempo to soulful swingin' slower rhythms, there is something for everyone.
Certainly a night not to miss! To complete the theme of the evening, everyone who shows up dressed from the era will get a ticket for a chance to win some great prizes (including an iPod Shuffle)!
As always, the beginner dance lesson is at 8pm and the band takes stage at 9pm.
Special event admission is $12.
An Orlando favorite for over six years! Grab your friends and family and
come out and cut a rug at our twice-a-month Saturday dance! We'll be playing the
best in swing, big band, blues, jump blues, and early rock-n-roll for your dancing
enjoyment. From slow tempos to fast, there is something for everyone. Food and drink
are available on donation basis. This is a family friendly event in a smoke and
alcohol free environment. It offers tons of energy in a social atmosphere!
Looking to get started with swing dancing? This is your chance! This dance features a
free beginner swing dance class (8 to 9pm) that covers all the essentials from footwork to

Dress is casual (unless otherwise noted for special events). It is recommended that you
wear something comfortable that you can move around in. Also, be sure to wear
comfortable shoes. To keep the floor in new condition, no high heels (spiked)
are allowed on the dance floor.

Dance: 9pm-12am
