After lots of consideration and soul-searching, we have decided not to come back to teaching dance. Our work lives and the more important role of parents keep us so busy now that what free time we have together we like to spend it as a family. That being said, we miss teaching and especially the opportunity it gave us to meet such great people (many of whom became good friends to us) and do something we loved and were passionate about.

For those of you who are looking for private lessons, you can reach out to Chad and Kelly Adams. Group series classes are harder to come by here in Orlando. As always, the 2nd and 4th Saturday Swing Dances are still being held at Whirl and Twirl and it’s a great opportunity to catch a beginning lesson, then dance the night away to some great music.

We hope that you have a great time learning to swing dance and that it serves you as well in life as it has us. Thank you for the opportunity to share our love and passion for swing dancing over the years. Thank you for the patronage, friendship, and support our past students and dance attendees have given us. We pray that God blesses you greatly in this new year and beyond 😀

We are still on hiatus from doing any classes or dances at this time (enjoying time with our almost two old daughter Reagan). However, the 2nd and 4th Saturday Swing Dances are still going on at Whirl and Twirl. There is a group lessons that happens before the dance and is included in the price of admission.

Saturday, December 7th: We would like to invite all our friends, family, and former students to our annual Christmas party from 7 to 10pm at the Longwood Ballroom. It’s been a long time since we have seen many of you as our lives have been very busy, so we hope you will join us for a night of danceable Christmas and swing music, good fun, and great cheer! Feel free to bring your family and friends. Likewise, bring some snacks and drinks (no alcohol please) for yourself and to share.

I recently realized that there were old class dates listed on the various series class pages and that this was confusing for people browsing out site. It made it look like these classes were going on during the dates listed. I apologize for the confusion and I have removed any dates listed on the series class pages as the classes are still on hiatus. The start up date for the next set of classes is to be determined.

You can always check back to this site for class schedule updates and/or sign up for the swing email that goes out twice a month. Class announcements as well as swing dance announcements are listed in the swing email. It’s a great way to stay tuned in to what’s happening in the local Orlando swing scene! In the meantime, feel free to contact us if you have any series class questions 🙂

That’s right, mark Saturday April 6th on your calendar and plan to attend the first Swingout Saturday dance of 2013! The format has changed a tad in that we are not providing a beginner lesson before the dance and we have removed an admission price. Instead we have a suggest donation price of $5/person to cover the cost of the rental.

The music will be as hot and swinging as ever though so don’t miss the chance to dance to Hot Jazz, Big Band, Early 50’s rock and roll, and many more swing music genres. Rob and Anna will be dancing to and spinning the tunes. Dawn and Shelley will also be available for social dancing as well. Reagan is also dancing, but not any actual footsteps….she’s still in training (she just turned one after all) 🙂 Click here to get more information such as directions and we all look forward to seeing you on April 6th!

Yes. I know. It’s been a while since many of you have heard from us. We’ve been taking some time off from teaching and dancing to focus our free time on spending it with our young daughter (who just turned one! Yay!). But we have not disappeared. In fact, we are planning something special in April! Be sure to mark your calendars for the evening of Saturday, April 6th. Happy new year and we hope your holidays were great! At the moment, we have not started planning our 2013 class schedule yet. We’re taking a bit of a break and spending time with our little daughter who is a ball of energy and  an absolute joy. So instead of teaching dancing, our focus has been on giving walking lessons. It’s a little more basic than we are use to, far more exhausting, but every bit as rewarding. 🙂

In appreciation of a great year, we would like to extend an open invitation to all of our friends, family, and students (past and present) to our annual Christmas party this Saturday night starting at 7:30pm! We’ll provide the music and the dance floor. You are invited to bring light snacks and/or drinks (no alcohol please) for yourself or to share. Did you miss the first week of classes but still want to join in? Well you can still join in the classes on the second week. Just contact us to register (pay by cash or check only) and come to class 15 minutes early to get caught up on what you missed the first week. This is your last chance to take our series classes as this is the last set for 2012 so call or email us today!

Our most popular class, the six week Lindy Hop series, will start from scratch and teach you all the essentials of the dance. It will start with the six count basic and progress into the eight count swingout. The Balboa is a classic swing era dance from Southern California that has enjoyed a tremendous revival in popularity in recent years, earning it a cult following of die hard dancers.

Our late summer classes just started and we are currently putting together our fall schedule. We’re planning on taking the month of September off, so the Sunday afternoon series classes will resume in the October time frame. But never fear! In the meantime, if you are looking to get started in swing dancing, we are still guest instructing at the 1st & 3rd Saturday dances. Be sure to drop by. It’s a friendly and welcoming environment that is perfect for getting started with dancing. We’ll show you the essentials to get you out on the dance floor and having fun. In addition, you will have a head start for our fall series classes!
