Back in November I started to experiment with with vintage style portrait photography. The goal was to use a combination of lighting effects and post processing techniques to replicate the portrait styles of the 1930’s and 1940’s. It took me a while to get through the post processing, but I’ve finally posted some of the results to the gallery. Most of the photos are in black and white with an almost “film noir” kind of look to them. A few I decided to leave in full color, or a convert into a retro style muted color. This session was a great learning experience and it’s given me a lot of ideas to use in the future. I’ll be doing another session sometime after the first of the year. At long last, I posted the rest of the vacation photos to our Flickr gallery. Feel free to drop by and comment. The first batch that I posted a few weeks ago are from England. The second batch are all from Ireland.

I have a special photo project that I am working to get online in about a week. After that, I’ll be working to backfill some of the photos that have been building up on me.

To celebrate dancing together for ten years, Dawn and I decided to gather up and post some photos of us dancing over the last decade. Feel free to drop by the gallery and take a trip down memory lane.

It’s interesting that you tend to take more photos of yourself when you are traveling or visiting other areas or are at special events. As a result, I’ve found that we have few photos of us dancing at our frequent haunts. Also, I only looked through our digital photo collection. I’m sure we have more photos of our “early days” of dancing somewhere on film. One day I’ll dig those up and scan them in.

We’ve had so many people asking about the vacation photos that we’ve put the first batch online (via Flickr) for you to view. Keep in mind that there is more to come. Dawn’s photos and the Ireland photos will be online soon. If you have a Flickr account, please feel free to comment and fav.

Once we get the vacation photos online, I’m going to work on getting the photos of some of our other trips from the last year online… including… and finally… the rest of last year’s Yellowstone photos.

There was a little delay this time in getting the photos online due to my travel schedule, but at long last, they have been posted to the gallery!

Well, first, thank you to everyone who came out to Saturday’s dance with the “Nicole Sasser Quartet”! It was a great night with lots of energy and the band did an awesome job! So you are probably looking for the photos. Half our team is away traveling this week, so they will be online next week. But I did get a sneak peek and there are some really great shots.
